By using partypelican.com or our reminder service, you agree to these terms. If you don't, please don't use the site or sign up. We've kept the language plain on purpose.
Use of content
Content on Party Pelican is for informational purposes. Pet safety information (food safety, ingredient toxicity, veterinary guidance) is sourced from primary veterinary organizations and cited inline, but it does not substitute for veterinary advice. When in doubt about your pet's health, contact your veterinarian.
We make every reasonable effort to ensure accuracy. Recipes are tested and ingredient safety is verified against published veterinary sources. If you find an error, please let us know and we will correct it.
The reminder service
The pet birthday and Gotcha Day reminder service is provided free of charge. Email reminders are sent on a best-effort basis. We reserve the right to pause, modify, or discontinue the service at any time; if we do, we will export your data and email it to you so you can take it with you.
You agree that the email address and pet information you submit are yours to provide and that the email address is one you have permission to use. Signing up someone else's email address without their permission is not permitted and we will remove and suppress that address on first complaint.
The service is not a veterinary alert system, a medical reminder, or a safety-critical tool. We do not guarantee delivery of any particular email at any particular time and are not liable for missed reminders.
Affiliate links and disclosures
Some links on this site, in our content, and in our optional monthly Deals roundup are affiliate links. When you buy through them, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. Intellectual property
Original content on Party Pelican (including Perry the Party Pelican, our mascot) is owned by Party Pelican. Do not republish articles in full. Short excerpts with attribution and a link back to the original are fine.
Acceptable use
Don't use this service to harass others (including by signing them up). Don't attempt to circumvent the unsubscribe mechanism. Don't probe or attack the infrastructure. Automated scraping of public articles is fine if it respects robots.txt and a reasonable rate. Automated signup flooding will get the originating IP suppressed.
Privacy
See our privacy policy. By using the reminder service you consent to the data handling described there.
Disclaimers and liability
The site and the reminder service are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Party Pelican is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the site or the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site or service is limited to one hundred US dollars ($100). Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations; in those, the limitation applies to the maximum extent permitted.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, except that consumers in other jurisdictions retain the benefit of any mandatory consumer-protection laws of their place of residence.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via email to confirmed subscribers and the effective date at the top of this page will be updated. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
